Question of the Month

 

Every month we include a "Question of the Month" in the newsletter. 

Previous questions have included:

  • If there is a contract to purchase a home is it taken off the market? Or is the property still listed as for sale and available for other offers?

  • Our buyers could not get approved for a home loan because the appraisal came in low.  Should they forfeit the deposit if they break the contract under this condition?

  • I'm divorced and live in our old house.  My ex hasn't made half the payments like he was supposed to, has taken a 2nd out on the home, and told the agent to reduce the sales price without my permission.  What can I do?

  • My landlord wants to sell this house for $225,000, but I checked and the county records show it is only appraised at $69,731.  What is it really worth?

  • I was recently prequalified for an FHA loan.  My credit report was pulled and I was told everything looked fine.  I've since had an offer accepted on a home. Now the lender wants me to pay two collection accounts that show up from one credit bureau, but not the others.  I've been disputing them for years and they don't belong to me.

  • My agent is telling me that other agents won't show my home as much if it already has a contingent offer on it.  Is that true and why?

  • My friend has a real estate license. She will be our agent so we can get a portion of the commission, but how do we go about viewing houses? She has no experience.
